Ranjit Barot believes that the information explosion and social media have both positive and negative aspects. He sees social media as both empowering and isolating, suggesting that some musicians who are successful on social media may not be adequately skilled to perform in real life. On the other hand, many talented artists struggle with obscurity because they are not fully engaged with social media. Barot emphasizes the importance of being discerning when it comes to trends, suggesting that one should consider both the positive and negative impacts of any trend. He values collaboration and surrounds himself with talented individuals who challenge him to improve. Barot considers real music to be something that can stand up to the works of great artists like Sting, Prince, and Michael Jackson. He acknowledges the challenges of being in a profession where music is widely consumed but often undervalued in terms of compensation.Subscription services charge a monthly fee, with only a small portion reaching the artists. Nowadays, with the help of AI, it is viewed as a valuable tool for those looking for convenience. However, for individuals with genuine talent and skill, AI cannot take their place. While it may eliminate those lacking in talent, it cannot replace those with true talent and determination. There is a need for more artists producing high-quality music to revolutionize the music industry. In my opinion, there is still hope for the music industry. Unfortunately, in India, the industry has been oversimplified to the point where creating intelligent music is considered niche. Presently, the industry is controlled by a lackadaisical group of individuals without proper standards. The presence of a popular artist's face in a music video often influences people. We seem to be stuck in a peculiar cycle. However, there are glimpses of good music, such as artists like AP Dhillon and Diljit Dosanjh. We require more artists producing excellent music to transform the music scene positively. My primary influence has always been my mother, Sitara Devi. I have worked tirelessly to reach where I am today. My mother, a renowned classical kathak dancer, was highly motivated and influential. She possessed immense energy and determination, qualities that I have inherited. This has driven me to constantly seek innovation, expression, and meaningful interaction with others.
